Sporton
indicates that this year, benefiting from the increased penetration of 5G and
Wi-Fi 7 technologies in high-end smartphones, PCs, and notebooks, the company
has maintained stable order levels for high-end model testing. Major customers
from Europe, the United States, Japan, and South Korea have contributed over
70% of the profits. Following the completion of the freeze on the 3GPP R18
standards for mobile communications, global telecommunications operators and
brand manufacturers are entering the commercial launch year of 5.5G (5G
Advanced), with expectations for the industry chain to accelerate technology
upgrades.
Sporton
points out that the CTIA 6.0 will be mandatory starting from October 31, 2024.
In the future, new 5G devices will only be subject to testing using the CTIA 6.0,
which is expected to increase testing hours by approximately 30% compared to
the previous version. Key new testing items include additional 5G NR frequency
band tests, testing items newly added under Carrier Aggregation technology, and
additional testing items for AGPS L1 in Standalone applications. The CTIA 6.0
is set to bring a new wave of testing business opportunities.
