Sporton announced Financial Results for 3Q and Monthly Revenue for October 2024

TAIPEI, Taiwan, November 7, 2024 –Sporton International Inc. (“Sporton”, Taipei Stock Exchange: 6146 TT), announced FY2024 3Q financial results yesterday.  Sporton reported consolidated revenue of NT$1.135 billion for the 3Q of 2024, with a consolidated gross margin of 52%. The consolidated profit before tax was NT$416 million, with profit attributable to owners of the parent amounting to NT$316 million, and the earnings per share (EPS) was NT$3.10.  The cumulative consolidated revenue for the first three quarters of 2024 reached NT$3.43 billion, with a cumulative consolidated gross margin of 50%. The consolidated profit before tax was NT$1291 million, and the profit attributable to owners of the parent was NT$994 million, leading to an EPS of NT$9.76.

The consolidated revenue for October 2024 was NT$375 million, representing a decrease of 1.34% compared to the same period last year. The cumulative consolidated revenue from January to October 2024 amounts to NT$3.805 billion (-6.22%YoY).

Sporton indicates that this year, benefiting from the increased penetration of 5G and Wi-Fi 7 technologies in high-end smartphones, PCs, and notebooks, the company has maintained stable order levels for high-end model testing. Major customers from Europe, the United States, Japan, and South Korea have contributed over 70% of the profits. Following the completion of the freeze on the 3GPP R18 standards for mobile communications, global telecommunications operators and brand manufacturers are entering the commercial launch year of 5.5G (5G Advanced), with expectations for the industry chain to accelerate technology upgrades.

Sporton points out that the CTIA 6.0 will be mandatory starting from October 31, 2024. In the future, new 5G devices will only be subject to testing using the CTIA 6.0, which is expected to increase testing hours by approximately 30% compared to the previous version. Key new testing items include additional 5G NR frequency band tests, testing items newly added under Carrier Aggregation technology, and additional testing items for AGPS L1 in Standalone applications. The CTIA 6.0 is set to bring a new wave of testing business opportunities.
